Formal Education

11 courses of our department are offered in formal education since 1999. There are six active laboratories carried out with the aim of improving the quality of the courses within educational facilities. All laboratories are conducted with capacity of 40 students.

Formal education takes place in university environment, with classrooms of multiple students learning together with a trained teacher. This system is designed around a set of values or ideals that govern all educational choices in that system. Such choices include curriculum, physical classroom design, student-teacher interactions, and methods of assessment, class size, educational activities, and more.

Each course offered in formal education lasts 3 hours per week.

What is Distance Learning?

Distance learning is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact with a teacher in the classroom. You can access to the Distance Education Lessons as synchronous or asynchronous through computer which is equipped with the speakers and Internet connection. It is not compulsory to come to Muğla for daily lessons. You have an opportunity to attend the lessons as synchronous or synchronous and take the mid-term exams through internet. If you have some assignments or projects to be done, you also can send them by e-mail. You have to come to Muğla each semester only to complete the course registration procedure and take a final exam.

Distance Education Lessons are carried out in virtual classes designed through Internet. The students have an opportunity to take the courses wherever they are. You can benefit from the guest house which belongs to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. You need to make reservation in advance and pay the reasonable fee. (For detailed information: (+90 0252 211 21 99).

The diploma never mentions how the degree was earned. There is no difference between distance education students and formal students of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in terms of diploma. Distance Education students are not permitted to transfer to formal education. The students with disabilities can benefit from the discount in the amount of tuition fees by providing an essential medical report to the related Higher Education Institution. Having a computer is enough to follow the courses carried out through Internet-based distance education system. The students who have a personal computer can follow online courses at home and watch the missed lessons. Internet access is available at the laboratories and classrooms for those who do not have personal computer in order to follow online courses.
